Today was Jeremiah's last day of 4th grade and the official start to summer vacation! πŸ˜†πŸ’—πŸ“šβ˜€οΈπŸ™Œ I can't believe our first year of homeschooling is in the books! It went so fast and it has been such an amazing adventure! We had soo much fun and we can't wait to begin Year 2 with #gatherroundhomeschool in August! I learned so much about teaching Jer this year.. I discovered that he's a visual learner just like his Daddy! It amazes me how much he remembers and what he recalls from just watching a video or a movie! I learned that he loves the Connecting Continents units because he really enjoys learning about all the amazing animals, the beautiful landscapes and incredible architecture! I would have thought he'd love the more Science focused units so that was really neat to see this year! πŸŒπŸ—ΊπŸž We had some great days this year! The Oceans unit is still Jeremiah's favorite! πŸŒŠπŸ’™πŸ‹ We had some tough days, too but I think one thing I learned is to give each other grace and space.. that it's okay to let him work at his own pace and that if it takes him all day to finish up, it really is okay. I'll cherish the deep talks we've had and the heart to heart chats as we've read some wonderful books this year. A Song For A Whale πŸ˜ŒπŸ’—πŸ‹πŸŽΆ and The Boy Who Harnessed The Wind πŸ§‘πŸ½πŸŒ¬πŸ“– were definitely our favorite read alouds. Jer has really loved doing Gather 'Round all digitally since January and it's made it so much easier not having to worry about printing and doing school on the go so simple! πŸ‘©β€πŸ«πŸ’—πŸ§‘β€πŸ’»πŸ“š I loved that we were able to take school on the road while we were out and about, running errands. I loved that we have the freedom to visit family and not have to rush back for school and how we could even not have to worry about getting schoolwork done while we were away and what a blessing that was! I am so thankful for all this year has taught us. It has brought our family closer and closer to Jesus. I praise Him every day and am so thankful for the freedom we have to homeschool and for God to be at the center of it! I pray that this next year continues to teach me and Jeremiah as we learn together and grow in our days together! πŸ˜ŒπŸ’—πŸ₯°
