I shared this in the Facebook group a while back, but some had asked here so I thought I would share:) This is long, but hopefully it gives you some ideas how to use it. I try to do my planning on Friday or Sat. If I don't get to it then because life then I reverse plan by just putting what we did for records. I have had the planner since it released. I still have many months to use as some months I do not plan and we also have moved 2 times in six months so only did math and reading during our crazy moving times. I love using tabs for the side, magnetic book marks, and a clip. That way I can know exactly where I need to go. At this point I order print for our units because of the quality. Even if I stopped doing that, the planner I would always order print in. It just will hold up way better than me printing at home. I sat down to plan this weekend as it was a new month and we begin Earth Science. -The book section of the planner I wasn't using so last unit I decided to start listing read a louds I would like to use for a unit in it. We have 3 scheduled for Earth Science. We may not get to all three and that is ok. -The Scripture Memory Verse I usually pick from a HS/MS verse for a unit. -The planning page I only do a week at a time. I put special phone calls I need to make. If we are doing field trips I actually schedule those tentatively there. This helps keep me organized. -The Month is pretty self explanatory. If I need to split the square I do. Even my Snapfish calendar does this for this month. -The weekly page is what I use the most. I designate each square for a book/subject we need to do. I also make sure each one is a different color 1st Box-Unit Study and any experiment we may do. I do not add videos to my planner as I keep a Youtube Playlist so I can cast from Youtube to my TV with my phone. This next year I will be doing Trello instead of the playlist as I finally took the time to learn to use it. 2nd Box- Letters and Numbers, this will move to Ready to Read, and then probably move to Highschool Labs for my oldest. 3rd Box- History that we do 3 times a week. This is when I fit in Mini Units also. It is an easy day for us to get it all in. 4th Box-I have one child with Dyslexia. We have had to add spelling for her. It doesn't mean GRH isn't enough, she just needs extra for her brain. We have always used copywork/dictation using Charlotte Mason's methods 5th Box- Read Aloud, Math. I make sure to add Read Aloud on there as many times I forget it other than audiobooks we do in the car. I also put our Math Lessons for each child. When I photographed this I still had not graded papers to see where each child was and the lessons we would do. 6th Box-This box is for me. I put my exercises I want to do from the program I use, any scheduled reminders that are not in my to-dos like watering the lawn, appts. etc. The bottom box I use for spelling. If a unit does not have spelling words I pick spelling words out of it for each of my children's abilities or will grab random words I feel they may need some other work on. When I give them the words I make sure they understand the meaning so it becomes Vocabulary too. Then when they write it I have them write it in a sentence. This serves a lot of purposes. It serves spelling, good sentence structure, and then vocabulary. It shows me they comprehend it. The last section is for dinners. When I plan school I also plan our meals for a the week and do my grocery order. If I do not plan meals ahead this definitely impacts our week, so it is something I try to do even if I don't get school planned. Since the Planner is so open and not much is labeled you could definitely use it for everyday and not school. If you wanted to change what some sections were it is so easy to do! It is a very adaptable planner. The Rest of the photos I will add to the comments:)
