Hi! I need some advice from veteran homeschoolers whose kids are involved in sports. We are very much a “low-key, homebody” family compared to our friends, who seem to run from one activity to the next. My three daughters are already involved in some low commitment activities (piano, tumbling, archery), plus actively involved in church, but my up coming 6th grader REALLY wants to join a basketball league. She aged out of the Christian elementary league she enjoyed, and our only option is a homeschool sports league that is very active- similar to travel ball. It would be three practices a week plus games and tournaments, some of which require traveling. My daughter is a hard worker and would probably excel, but the stress of practices and getting school done would fall on me. My husband travels a good bit for work and would help as much as he could. He and I have talked about it but just can’t decide what to do. My love of homeschooling comes from being together, not being rushed, and being free to rabbit trail and explore. I know this is not just a whim, and my daughter rarely asks for anything, so I hate to tell her no just because I don’t want to be stressed out. Thoughts? Advice?
