Does anyone else allow their kids to read from the teacher’s manual themselves? My daughter will be 13 in a few weeks. She is loving GR, but she likes to sit at her desk with a printout of the TM and highlight information then do her work. She does not like sitting with me and her little brother (10) and waiting for me to read. She goes on her own rabbit trails (with our ipad that has restrictions). She produces amazing work too. I tell her to take breaks when she needs. So, I’m not too concerned about the “gathering together” part with her. She’s always been very gifted, creative, and an independent learner. She’s super responsible for her age, sometimes a little too much lol. Just curious if anyone else does this with their independent learners? I’m loving what this curriculum is doing for our kids! It’s so different and so unique. My kids are not just “filling in the blanks and memorizing this and that”….they are starting to think for themselves more instead of what we were using.
