I have an experience hours - HS credit question. My high schooler is on our church’s worship and tech team. He plays drums and bass both for youth group and the main services. He teaches drums to young kids for 2 hours a month during their music mentorship program. Sometimes he runs the live stream, sometimes he runs a camera that is filming for live stream, sometimes he runs sound, sometimes he runs stage lights, sometimes he runs the slides on the computer. For children’s services, some special mid-week activities, and our VBS, he builds entire lighting scenes and then makes up the entire tech team himself, running all of the sound, lighting, and slides. Also….he has learned two different DAW systems (Ableton and Cubase). He has trained some with our church to build the Ableton tracks used for worship services. He also has recently been hired by our music teacher to record some of our music teacher’s original songs to use as samples to get his foot in the door of our local music scene (he’s new to the area and we have a thriving local life music scene). And he creates and records his own music with Cubase. Because he wants to be a musician and possibly get into a university music recording engineer program, I think it’s important to note all of this on his transcript. How would you do so? Can I use all of this real-life experience and training through mentorship with professionals as credit hours? How should I list/label that?
