In honor of 9/11, it was the perfect opportunity to start our new US Government mini unit study paired with learning about the significance of this day 19 years ago. . . New homeschool moms ask me ‘But what does your school day need to look like?’ Well, every family’s is different and each of OUR days looks different during the week in our home. Today looked a little like this: . . -some breakfast, some Lego & puzzles, and a little chores -9am Mommy’s group workout in the court for Mommy P.E. Time -Shower and a little more chores -Lunch time watching Brain Pop about 9/11 -9/11 teacherspayteachers power point casted to the TV with some reading practice on 9/11 -2pm virtual meetup and verbal test with our Charter school liason -Chores, pretend play & outside in the dirt time -super late afternoon US Govt unit study lesson with our Usborne Politics & Government readaloud -individual math lessons -minecraft time to build 9/11 structures -start dinner -take my daughter for a special ice cream treat for a great accomplishment -late family dinner -showers -reading practice with mom during bedtime basket readalouds (currently loving Burgess Bird book for our North American bird study)& Bible . . We accomplished A LOT. Does it look like that everyday? NOPE! And that’s OK. What does one of your days look like? Does it have a schedule or more of a flow? @fitmomplantstrong
