Hey homeschoolers! Quick question about workbook levels. My son is 7, almost 8, and technically in 2nd grade this year. He was a little bit of a slow starter with reading but I think is doing quite well. My plan was to start off with the Early Reader level and eventually bump him up to Early Elementary. I’m curious what any of you do to navigate the transition? How do you tell if your child is ready to bump up? He can write well and read well but he REALLY struggles with motivation and likes to take short cuts whenever he can. So I’m a bit worried that the extra work that will come with moving up will cause him to get overwhelmed and shut down. We’ve done The Human Body and NAB thus far and our best unit is Oceans. Anyways, thanks for any input!
