Looking for some advice and encouragement. This is our first year homeschooling . It was a bumpy few months but the boys are catching a groove. With recent lockdowns and restrictions in place again, activities have been cancelled. My 11 year old used to see his friends from school last year at the soccer practices . Now they have decided because he is not at school he is not part of the “cohort bubble”. He has been moved to a separate cohort while all his friends are in the “public school practice team” :( he’s super bummed. I feel it has been such a bad year to introduce him to homeschooling - we can’t go anywhere ; no one wants to hang out ; we haven’t met any other kids this year and now he won’t even see the fiends he had from school . He’s starting to feel homeschool kinda sucks. He enjoys the units we are doing and the freedom to follow his interests but my boys literally haven’t seen many friends apart from themselves - really- since March. What do you do for socialization during Covid ? I had initially told him homeschooling would give us the chance to see and meet more people ....
