To those that worry is this curriculum enough? Will my child be behind others, if I do not cram more information into their heads? I was right there with you, especially for my high schooler. I am a former public school teacher as well, and a recent newcomer to the homeschooling world. I found myself worrying that my oldest wouldn’t be prepared for college, that he would possibly be missing needed context. Honestly I let pride get in the way, comparison, and competition clouded my thoughts. But this week, I was exhausted and busy with getting ready for the upcoming move. I didn’t have time to worry this week. I didn’t have time to compare. Guess what happened! I listened and watched my child. I noticed he is excited to share the new information he has learned. I heard him applying new vocabulary into everyday conversation, like cultural assimilation. I heard him sharing Biblical comparisons to what he was learning. There was no more simple one-three word responses to what did you learn today. In fact, I didn’t even need to ask that question anymore. I can see what he is learning! It’s evident! Is this enough? I don’t know that answer yet. But what I do know is that my son is excited to learn, and is speaking of God throughout his learning. And that is enough for me!!
